The folk of Wickwood call it simply The Place to Go.
It is not marked on any map, though three dwellings stand there beneath crooked branches and moon-washed leaves. Each one bears a number, not for the order in which it was built, but for the charm it keeps: No 31, No 21 and No 6.
They are strange little homes, it is true. A touch spooky, a touch sweet and older than anyone can quite remember. But those who find them are never lost. They have simply arrived where they were meant to be.
